How does ozone compare with chlorine?
Ozone is a stronger oxidant and breaks down quickly without leaving a lasting residual, while chlorine stays in the water and protects it in tanks and networks.
Does ozone need contact time?
Yes. Ozone is injected into a contact tank or line so it stays with the water long enough to disinfect or oxidise before the next stage.
Does ozone remove iron and manganese on its own?
It only oxidises them; a filter afterwards is needed to catch the resulting particles.
